Shree Gopal Narayan Akshikar (1864-1917)

Such are the strong roots of the General Education Institute, deeply embedded in the soil of perseverance and quality education, thanks to its sole founder, Shree Gopal Narayan Akshikar. He merits this title for his visionary and far-sighted approach in establishing the system of values and morals that constitutes the core of the Institute.

Shri G. N. Akshikar was born on September 25, 1864 , in Akshi, a village near Alibaug, and hailed from a poor but respectable family. Throughout his life, he encouraged the promotion of education, which he believed was the foundation for ensuring a dignified future. In 1889, G. N. Akshikar implemented his vision to start the 'Dadar English School,' now known as 'Chhabildas High School.' This school has since earned a reputation all over Maharashtra for providing quality education. His assistance for those who pursued education was generous; he deeply admired the performance of bright students and always offered resources generously to those who were needy.
